What’s the difference between women’s mascara and men’s mascara?

I went into H&M today and saw that they now sell various cosmetics specifically for men (I’m guessing goth ones). They even have a brand of men’s mascara for sale. It made me kind of curious. Is there really a difference between “men’s mascara” and women’s mascara?

Don’t make assumptions about goth guys… and I bet there’s no difference they just want to make guys more comfortable with buying cosmetics by saying it’s for guys.

I doubt there’s any real difference. My guess is that men’s mascara is more subtle, enhancing one’s own lashes just a little. And for blond and redheaded guys it might be a good idea. Meanwhile, most women’s mascara makes their eyelashes look very full and pronounced. But it does seem like a shameless marketing ploy, since they do sell women’s mascara that is subtle.
